先日、オンラインストアにてDRĒIPS初のリネンシャツの販売を開始しました。
The other day, we started selling DRĒIPS’ first linen shirts in our online store.

実はリネンのシャツは兼ねてからご要望を頂いており、遠州織物にこだわって生地を選んでおりました。遠州エリアの中でもリネンが有名な織物工場さんに訪問させて頂き、実物を見ながら数種類の生地を見比べます。
In fact, we have been receiving requests from our customers for linen shirts for a long time, and we have looked for fabrics with a focus on Enshu textiles. We visited a textile factory famous for linen in the Enshu region and compared several types of linen fabrics.

番手を上げるとしなやかさや軽やかさ、美しいドレープ感を確保できる一方で、生地の透け感が強くなってきますのでメンズシャツとして利用するには難しくなってしまいます。
While a high yarn-count gives it suppleness, lightness, and a beautiful drape feeling, it also makes the fabric more transparent, making it difficult to use it as a men’s shirt.

これに対して低い番手はリネンらしいハリ感、シャリ感を感じ、使い込むことによって風合いが出てくることはイメージ出来るのですが、DRĒIPSらしいエレガントさにやや欠けるかなと言う印象でした。
On the other hand, the low yarn-count feels the firmness and crispness of linen, and we can imagine that the texture will come out with use, but we had the impression that it lacked the elegance of DRĒIPS ‘s concept.

もちろん生地は番手のみならず、織り方や加工の仕方でも変わってくるので一概には言えないのですが、大量にあるリネン生地の中からブランドの世界観を表現出来、イメージにあうリネンを探しました。
The texture of the fabric changes not only depending on yarn-count, but also on the weaving method and processing method, so it is not possible to evaluate it generally, but we looked for linens that express the brand’s world view and match the image.

そして数種類のリネン生地をピックアップしてサンプルを作成し、表情やハリ感、透け感等を確認しながら生地を絞り込んでいった結果選んだのが、今回商品に採用しているヨーロッパリネンの60番手白糸を遠州エリアで織り上げ、ハリを残しフラットに仕上げたリネンとなっています。
We then picked up a few different linen fabrics and created some samples. As a result of narrowing down the fabric while checking the expression, firmness, and sheer feeling of the samples, we chose a fabric that weaves the European linen(60 yarn-count) used in this product in the Enshu area. That linen has leave firmness and finish flat.

60番手と言うと番手の中では低くもなく、高くもない印象がありますが、仕上げ方がとても素晴らしく、太陽光に照らされた時の輝きや、生地の表情に上品さを感じました。また、一定のハリ感があることから使い込んでいった際の風合いの良さも期待できることから選んだ生地となっています。
We have the impression that the 60 yarn-count is neither low nor high among the yarn-counts, but the finish is very wonderful, and we felt the elegance in the shine when illuminated by sunlight and the expression of the fabric. Also, it is a fabric was chosen because it has a certain firmness and can be expected to have a good texture when used.

清潔感と清涼感、そして着用した際のヒンヤリとした触感に加えて、DRĒIPSらしいリラックス感とエレガントさを感じることが出来る生地だと思いますので、是非この春夏にシャツ1枚でご着用頂きたいアイテムとなっています。
In addition to the cleanliness and cool tactile feeling when worn, we think that it is a fabric that allows you to feel the relaxation and elegance that is typical of DRĒIPS, so it is an item that you should wear with one shirt this spring and summer.

なお、同じ生地にてハンドロールラインのポケットチーフもご準備致しました。
And we have also prepared a pocket square of the hand-rolled line with the same fabric.
